Popular comedyman gives GWB what-for. A few weeks ago a brilliant essay showed up in my twitter feed. It was by a dude named Ben Schwartz, and titled, "Satirized for Your Consumption." I liked it a lot. It made me think with my mind. His thesis is, "We live in an age of satirical excess. If economists were to diagnose it, they might well call it a comedy bubble... And as often happens with bubbles, it burst."
As I said, (see preceding paragraph) I thought it was brilliant, but like all smart pieces of criticism that make a brother think, I did not agree with all of it. I sharply disagree with this part. Long quote follows, but worth the read:
